Jackie, Dental Assistant

Jackie was born in Albuquerque, NM and moved to McAlester, OK at age 12. She attended Haskell Indian Nation University in Lawrence, KS before transferring to Eastern Oklahoma State College for General Studies in 2010. Jackie then went on to receive her Dental Assistant training in 2011 from the Kiamichi Technology Center in McAlester. But her continuing education didn’t stop there. Jackie has received advanced training in radiation safety, coronel polishing, topical fluoride, nitrous oxide, and infection control.

For Jackie, the best part of this job is providing excellent care for our patients. Her husband works in industrial engineering, and they have two children. When she’s not in the office helping patients (and Dr. Nels), you can find her exercising, running—she loves mud runs—and spending time with her family.

Corissa, Dental Assistant

Corissa grew up in the Panhandle of Oklahoma in a little town called Laverne. She completed her pre-reqs at NWOSU in Alva, then transferred to OU College of Dentistry where she graduated in 2017 with her BSDH (Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene).

For Corissa, the best part of this job is interacting with our wonderful patients every day, educating them on disease etiology and oral-systemic links. Corissa is married to her wonderful husband, Josh, and they have two young girls, Addy and Lyla, that keep her on her toes! When she’s not in the office taking care of patients, you can find her reading, staying active, and spending time with her family.

Laura, Treatment Coordinator

Laura was born in Norman, OK but spent most of her childhood in Texas. She returned to Oklahoma when she was 16 and has been a Midwest City resident for over 10 years. Laura graduated from Lawton, OK High School in 1999 and has worked in many fields over the years, but dentistry is her favorite! Laura has received EMT basic training, she’s worked in a Sherriff’s office, and as an apprentice painter. In the dental field, she’s received OSHA, dental assisting, and x-ray training.

For Laura, the best part of this job is dentistry itself! She loves seeing how improving dental health can change lives. Laura is currently engaged to be married, and she has two boys of her own and two step-daughters, plus a tiny Chihuahua named Ginger. When she’s not in the office planning treatments, you can find her enjoying the outdoors, going to the lake, and spending cozy movie nights with her family.
